ITEM:

This is a, Professional H.K.S. Exhaust System with three inch pipe and a professional, H.K.S. Muffler.

What was the test?:

We struck down from 3 inch beginning at the engine to a 2.5 inch exhaust tip. Performance Muffler.

The hole is centre place of the, Muffler if you draw a straight line from the open end out to, Atmosphere, Straight from Atmosphere (The end of the, Muffler where the Exhaust fume's come out) to the first bend in the, Exhaust, You can see that this hole, Line's up.

What has happened? Very similar to a, Plasma Cutter. The "REVERB" of the, Exhaust note/sound has caused, Sonic Detonation, at a frequency that has then, CUT, A hole in the wall of the, Exhaust.

How do you stop this from happening? Scalloping and Bellow's, Are a good way to cause the, Sonic Detonation, to Reduce however the best way out of them all is a series of lip's from, Horn's that can cause disarray of the, Sonic Detonation and frequency. Each, Muffler and preferably join requires a "Horn" inside the, Exhaust, To cause the, Sonic Detonation to flare out and almost vaporise. A larger muffler, Possibly, a 4 inch internal hole to a three inch pipe and waste gate's at certain pressure, Down the, Exhaust pipe to decrease the force inside the muffler.

Dampen and shatter the, "Sonic Detonation".

The pipe size narrowed down to a smaller internal diameter of the, Muffler, Then the, Performance Muffler, Itself... Would cause a certain, Frequency and that is what caused the hole in the, Exhaust. Be careful what, Muffler you buy and be careful how you turn the, Exhaust out with the end tip and internal baffle's.

External waste gate's are not just for the, Engine Bay. You can plumb them into the, Exhaust and the, Exhaust chamber if you make one.

PLAN THE EXHAUST BEFORE YOU BUILD.
